MONSIEUR IBRAHIM EN DIE BLOMME VAN DIE KORAN

Monsieur Ibrahim en die Blomme van die koran (Monsieur Ibrahim and the flowers of the Koran) is set in the Jewish Quarters of Paris in 1960.

The story of a troubled young Jewish boy, Momo, begins where a friendship develops between him and the local lonely shop owner, Monsieur Ibrahim. Momo’s hilarious but also heartbreaking story starts when he loses his virginity at age 11 at a brothel.

Momo finds comfort in conversations with Monsieur Ibrahim, who offers advice and teaches the young boy that there is more to life than sex and stealing groceries from his shop. When Momo’s dad, a passive-aggressive lawyer – disappears and is later found dead, his new struggles as an orphan.
