Professional Concert Works played by super-talented Youngsters. Popular classical works performed beautifully, and accompanied by a talented and experienced youth orchestra. The Youth Orchestra is also enlarged with some adult professionals.
There are three piano concertos, four string concertos, and three soprano arias. Bruch Violin concerto, Ave Maria, Czardas by Monti, a beautiful Baroque Viola concerto, and I Dreamed a Dream. All superbly performed.
Soloists are between 10 and 17 years old.
Pienaar Fourie conducts the East Rand Youth Orchestra, supporting all the different styles, and encouraging them to let their music speak to us. Something he has been doing for the past 50 years.
Join us at this annual Concerto concert on either Saturday 18 May, or Sunday 19 May 2024, in the St. Dunstans College, EJ Butler Centre for the Arts, at 2:30 pm. Bring your children to see the joy of sharing music. (and all the beautiful dresses).
