KILLARNEY’S POWER SERIES – MORE THAN JUST EPIC MOTORSPORT!

Round 5 of Killarney’s Power Series presented by Lime Property Management in association with Smile FM on Saturday 27 July is more than just a day jam-packed with world-class motorsport – it’s also a tribute to a giant of motorsport.

Denis Joubert was instrumental in the creation of Killarney International Raceway in 1960 and the formation of the Western Province Motor Club in 1965. He was WPMC secretary from 1965 until 1970, when he was elected Chairman, a post he held for 36 years, and is still an active member of the Club’s Management Committee.

In honour of his 90th birthday this event will be celebrated as the Denis Joubert Race Day, in a tribute to a true statesman of motorsport and a remarkable racing driver.

With races in seven car and three motorcycle categories, it’s action all the way from 8:00am till sunset, featuring Modified Saloon Cars, Classic Cars, Formula Libre racing cars and Sports & GT cars, as well as Superbikes and Classic Superbikes as well as STC 650 and SSP 300 motorcycles.

There are outlets around the facility serving hot snacks and cold beverages – as well as children’s play areas – and ample parking all around the circuit, so bring your cooler box, light up your skottelbraai, or just pick a seat on our grandstands and make the day your own.
