The Play, You Fool, How Can the Sky Fall, chronicles the experiences of a courtier of Ministers and their president, incarcerated, it appears, in a prison, metaphorically speaking somewhere in the African continent.
Although, the writer, Zakes Mda, borrows from his lived experience in Lesotho, the plays borrow from that political landscape when the country was under the leader, Lebua Jonathan, when he was Prime Minister of Lesotho.
However, there is no reference to a particular country, save for the Diktoba dance performed by the Daughters of the Revolution. You Fool, while satirical in its approach, shows the absurdist nature of a gang of politicians, who are to serve time.
