In the Shadow of Giants

Shackleton Brewing Company and The Springbok Pub Newlands are hosting a summer cask beer festival aptly named "In the Shadow of Giants." This name draws reference to the location of Shackleton Brewing Company as both the mountain and big institutions (cough cough SAB) literally and figuratively cast a shadow over the brewery.

The festival is aimed at creating and acknowledging the culture of cask ale in South Africa. Founded by the principle of producing real ales, we have invited local craft breweries to join in on a day that celebrates these beers - each bringing one cask filled with their unique product to sit alongside their own available beer range.
