Co –written with rocker Patti Smith, Sam Shepard’s COWBOY MOUTH’s thematic focus is on characters who journey in search of an extraordinary “star”, a search for a ‘rock ‘n roll saviour with a cowboy mouth” who can vicariously save them.

COWBOY MOUTH is a profound metaphor for contemporary life. The play brilliantly explores the paradoxical need for both individuality and belonging, the paradoxical desires for self and community, for freedom and roots, for escape and family.
