Cango Caves is Africa’s largest show cave system and is considered an archaeological and historical highlight of the Klein Karoo and Garden Route.
It was re-discovered in 1780 and have evolved to become the premier show cave in Africa.
Situated in the Swartberg Mountains, 30km north of Oudtshoorn, the 20 million year-old cave system consists of a series of hidden chambers that cut deep into a thick limestone lens.
Facilities onsite include restaurant, interpretive centre, curio shop and tourism desk.
The caves are open every day (except 25 December) with tours conducted every half-hour.
