About

The 46th Discovery Surfers Challenge takes place on 15 February 2020. Entrants will venture over rocks, traverse loose sand and swim rivers from Kwelera Mouth to Nahoon Beach.

Starting points:
17.5km run – Kwelera River
17.5km paddle – Kwelera River
10km run – Gonubie Hotel
5km run – Blue Lagoon Hotel

T-shirts to all who complete the race in the cut off times.

Online entries close 9 February 2020.

Race pack collection is from Nutting Hall, East London on 13 or 14 February from 08h30 to 17h00. Entries at the venue will cost an extra R20 for runners and R50 for paddlers.
Race day entries from 08h00 to 11h00 will cost an extra R100.

5km Run / Walk (Adults and Juniors) 15 Feb 2020 13:00

R100 - R130

The Surfers Junior 5km for runners/walkers under 13 years old, starting below the Blue Lagoon Hotel. The start time is 13:45 and follows the route towards the Bonza Bay River, turns around a marker and then heads back to finish on Nahoon Beach.

Registration will be at Nutting Hall Sports Centre, Galway Road, Stirling, East London.
Race pack collection times are Thursday and Friday 08h30 – 17h00.

10km Run / Walk 15 Feb 2020 13:45

R100 - R150

The Surfers 10km is a race for runners/walkers starting at The Gonubie Hotel. The start time is 13:45 and follows the route of the Surfers Challenge thereafter.

Registration will be at Nutting Hall Sports Centre, Galway Road, Stirling, East London.
Race pack collection times are Thursday and Friday 08h30 – 17h00.

17.5km Run 15 Feb 2020 14:30

R100 - R150

The race starts on a gravel road at the Kwelera River, but soon ventures onto the beach where runners will be welcomed by rocks and soft sand on the way past Rainbow Valley.

Registration will be at Nutting Hall Sports Centre, Galway Road, Stirling, East London. Race pack collection times are Thursday and Friday – 08h30 – 17h00.

CUT OFF TIME 18h00

17.5km Paddle 15 Feb 2020 14:30

R100 - R150

The paddle race starts at the mouth of the Kwelera River and ends at Nahoon Beach at the Finish line. The paddles need to go to the Yellow Sands Caravan park side.

Registration will be at Nutting Hall Sports Centre, Galway Road, Stirling, East London. Race pack collection times are Thursday and Friday – 08h30 – 17h00.
