Debut production
ASEM explores the use of voice in art. The work is a sound and photographic display of an audio intervention done in the Orange Fish River tunnel. It is only accessible at certain times of the year when the tunnel is drained for routine maintenance. I sang a traditional Afrikaans song that is connected to the site. This sound work reflects on the influence of disease, draught, and forgotten histories of the uprooted communities.
Genre: Live and interdisciplinary art
Rolverdeling / Cast: Pauline Theart
Running time: 60 min
