To mark the end of their 50th year of celebrations, Jazzart Dance Theatre is proud to present ENCORE, a special and joyful programme that pays homage to those who have contributed to the history and longevity of Jazzart, seeing it from its humble beginnings to the world-renowned contemporary dance performance company it is today. Alumni who have passed through Jazzart and continue to leave their mark in the industry as performers, choreographers, and teachers, are also heralded with this mixed bill.
The programme showcases works by ex-Jazzart Artistic Directors Sifiso Kweyama, Jackie Manyaapelo, and celebrated alumni artists including SboNdaba Dance, Figure of 8 Dance Collective, Baba Yaya African Performing Arts Academy and New World Dance Theatre. The Encore celebration will feature a special headline appearance by Alfred Hinkel and John Linden’s Garage Dance Ensemble to commemorate their valuable contribution during their tenure.
