Playwright Nicola Hanekom, awarded the coveted Hertzog Prize for drama, adapted the gripping book for Suidoosterfees. Onder ’n bloedrooi hemel tells the story of a double murder on an Eastern Cape farm, and how it takes Annemarié on an odyssey into her past. A journey in which she has to come to terms with her childhood, a love affair with Denzel, a black colleague, and her father who wants to shield her from the world at all cost – all within the heart-wrenching framework of South Africa’s grim history.
