The Market Theatre Laboratory and TsaMmu offers a part-time short film writing course. This course sets out to help aspiring writers better understand key concepts necessary to developing story for Screen. Along with learning core screenwriting skills, participants will also get the opportunity to write their own short film. We'll explore what defines a short film and its structure, along with how to write visually. You'll learn to develop a rich story world, craft compelling characters, and write dialogue that pops.
The course also covers creating a short film treatment, outlining your story, and offers guidance on rewriting and polishing your final script.
This course begins 14 September 2024 and ends 30 November 2024. Participants will meet once a week, Saturday for 3 hours, 9am to 12pm.
NB: Participants are required to have their own laptop.
