Universiteitskoor Stellenbosch University Choir – ENDLER CONCERT SERIES

The SU Choir is one of South Africa’s most accoladed cultural treasures. Audiences the world over have been entranced by the energy, talent and musicality of this student choir.

This programme brings cultural treasures from around the world to the Endler stage. Come and experience works such as Johnny Clegg’s “The Crossing” and Andre Swiegers’ “Blou” along with arrangements of Albert Grau’s “Kasar mie la gaji” (The earth is tired) and “Balleilakka” – an adaptation of the popular song from the Indian blockbuster The Boss. Die geliefde US Koor se program fokus op kultuurskatte van reg oor die wêreld. Gehore kan hulle regmaak vir ’n program propvol nuwe koorkomposisies en -verwerkings, met nuwe a cappella-weergawes van onder meer “The Crossing” (Johnny Clegg) en “Blou” (André Swiegers). Twee hoogtepunte is “Kasar mie la gaji” (Die aarde is moeg) van Alberto Grau en “Balleilakka”, ’n verwerking van die gewilde lied uit die Indiese lokettreffer The Boss. Dirigent: André van der Merwe
