Shine - 2024 Musical Extravaganza

For decades, school-based music programmes have served as fertile grounds for nurturing South Africa’s rich musical heritage. These programmes not only pave the way for budding musical careers but also serve as the starting point for many of the nation’s leading musicians, igniting their passion for the craft. Recognizing the pivotal role of music in child and teen development, Shine was first staged in 2018 at Durban High School to honour and celebrate the abundance of talented young musicians in Kwa-Zulu Natal. Featuring some of the province's top school music ensembles Shine creates a platform for high school students who are gifted and passionate about their music.
