On Saturday, 31 August 2024, join us for a special music concert in support of #Action4Inclusion, led by esteemed advocate and social justice champion, Prof Thuli Madonsela. The #Action4Inclusion crowdfunding initiative, is a key component of the University's Bridge the Gap annual fund, and a top priority for SU. It's a crucial step towards ending student debt and unlocking students' potential, enabling them to actively contribute to our country's development.
The #Action4Inclusion Palissander Concert marks the kickoff of an ambitious initiative aimed at raising funds for students in need. Later this year, from 26 October to 8 November, Prof Madonsela will continue on the Pilgrimage of Hope, a 300 km journey from Stellenbosch to Cape Agulhas, the southernmost tip of Africa. While fundraising to eradicate student debt, this trek will traverse mountains, farmlands, and beaches, fostering connections with diverse communities along the way.
The #Action4Inclusion Palissander Concert serves as a precursor and activation to this significant walk, generating interest and support for the journey ahead. Prof Madonsela previously completed the first two stages of this pilgrimage in August 2023, walking from Stellenbosch to Franschhoek. The Concert will feature participation from thought leaders, CEOs, members of the public and media, all united in the mission to support students facing financial challenges.
Palissander, one of South Africa’s premier chamber choirs, has established itself as an ambassador for hope and peace to both local and overseas communities. For more than 30 years, they have been making an impact on people’s lives through music for the soul.
