About

The African Brain Art Festival (ABA FEST) is a vibrant and groundbreaking two-day event set to take place in Soweto on the 7th and 8th of September 2024. This unique festival is dedicated to exploring and celebrating the intricate connections between creativity and the brain. ABA FEST aims to bridge the gap between various domains including social development, technology, entrepreneurship, the arts, brain health, and physical health, pioneering innovative approaches at the intersection of arts and brain science.
Throughout the festival, attendees will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of activities designed to stimulate both the mind and the soul. Interactive workshops, thought-provoking panel discussions, and captivating performances will be at the heart of ABA FEST, offering insights into how creativity can enhance brain function and overall well-being.
A highlight of the festival is the community walk on Sunday, 8th September. This walk will start at the Soweto Theatre and proceed to Bheki-Mlangeni Hospital, Credo Mutwa Village, and the Soweto Home for the Aged, featuring site-specific presentations that underscore the festival's themes. The walk will conclude back at the Soweto Theatre, providing participants with a holistic experience of Soweto’s cultural and social landscape. (details for registering for the walk are coming soon)
In addition to the physical event, ABA FEST will be live-streamed across various online platforms, allowing a wider audience to participate in and benefit from the festival's offerings. This ensures that the innovative ideas and discussions generated at ABA FEST can reach and inspire people beyond the confines of the festival itself.
