The Little Giants- “It’s not a band, It’s a movement”
The Little Giants band was formed in 1999 by Ezra Ngcukana and George Werner after being approached by JCQ Productions to create a youth band for their Millennium Jazzathon event. The project has provided over 300 young people in Cape Town from diverse backgrounds with opportunities, many of whom became established professionals in their own right.
The Little Giants have performed on various stages, both locally and internationally, and they had the honour of accompanying many of our musical legends, including Winston Mankunku and Robbie Jansen, to name but a few. Tonight, we have the honour of welcoming the Little Giants family- both past, present, and future members. Featured artists are – the Little Giants Big Band and Imad Combine Choir, The Alumni band, the IMAD Khayelitsha Jazz Ensemble plus our special guest, Babalwa Mentjies.
