Rooibos Restitution Screening in Aid of the Wupperthal Community

For the community of Wupperthal in the Cedarberg region of South Africa, New Year’s day 2019 dawned in tragedy. Overnight, a fire devasted the small, historic town, burning down most of the houses and buildings and leaving 200 people without home or belongings.
This tragedy is a blow to the cultural heritage of the people of the community, who are descendants of the Khoi Khoi and San.

The town also lies at the heart of South Africa's Rooibos farming and production. We would like to invite you to the screening of “Rooibos Restitution”, a film which captures the struggle to protect the indigenous rights of the Khoi Khoi and San communities of the Cedarberg, Wupperthal being one of them.
