Three women (Break the Silence)

What does gender matter for social movements? Three Women (Break The Silence) is a theatrical performance augmented by a collective song that examines women’s distinct experiences of vulnerability even within activist collectives.

A work of documentary and verbatim theatre, the play draws on freedom songs, field notes, and interviews conducted in 2009 and 2010 with activists from Remmoho, a women’s group established within Johannesburg’s Anti-Privatisation Forum.
