the Rand Symphony Orchestra will present a symphony concert, with the violin soloist Camelia Onea from Pretoria. The conductor will be the resident conductor Carel Henn.

The Rand Symphony Orchestra is a community orchestra and has been in existance for 30 years and since 2015 is led by resident conductor and musical director Carel Henn. They present at least 4 concerts per year, with the March concert being a symphony concert specifically aimed at the lover of symphonic orchestral music. The orchestra will start the programme with the Rosamunde Overture by Franz Schubert, after which Camelia Onea will play the Violin Concerto no. 5 by Mozart with the orchestra. After interval the Orchestra will finish the concert with the Symphony no. 8 by Antonin Dvorak. Camelia Onea is a graduate of the George Enesco Acadamy in Bucharest, and is currently concert master of the Johanneburg Festival Orchestra. She is one of the top violinists in South Africa, and appears regularly as soloist, chamber musician and recording artist.
