JOBURG BALLET presents EVOLVE

Evolve brings together four ballets, three of which are new works created especially for Joburg Ballet while the fourth is a glittering showpiece from the classical repertoire. The new works include The Afterlife: Souls, a reflective, introspective piece by principal dancer Shannon Glover; The Game by Mario Gaglione, inspired by chess, the game of kings; and Legae, an evocative dance piece about returning home after a long absence. The programme’s classical ballet is the Grand Pas from Paquita, classicism in the grand manner providing a showcase for ballerina, partner, soloists and corps de ballet. Choreographed in the 19th century by the great Marius Petipa.
