Sikhalel’u OR

The poet laureate and anti- apartheid struggle veteran Mongane Wally Serote presents a poem in praise of the life of the late Oliver Reginald Tambo who served as the president of the African National Congress from 1967-1991. Sikhahlel’u-OR poem touches on OR Tambo’s childhood in Mbizana-Eastern Cape, he liberation struggle, his role in the ANC and his vision for South Africa. An important and timeous reminder of the cost at which freedom came.
