UCT Symphony Orchestra

Surround yourself in sound! The University of Cape Town Symphony Orchestra performs the world premiere of an overture composed by the winner of the 2022 Jan Royce Foundation Prize for Orchestral Composition. Simon Wu, winner of the 2022 Laura Searle Piano Competition performs Rachmaninoff ‘s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini.

The UCT Symphony Orchestra end their concerts for 2023 with a performance of Saint-Saëns’ much loved Organ Symphony, with post graduate student organist Dale de Windt. UCT Symphony Orchestra is conducted by Brandon Phillips, who was appointed at the beginning of this year as Head of Woodwind and Ensembles Conductor at UCT.
