The newly formed Luna Duo brings together two of South Africa’s leading performing clarinetists - Capetonians Annelize de Villiers and Danielle Rossouw. Together with acclaimed pianist Esthea Kruger, this concert celebrates the launch of the Duo and will include works by Mendelssohn, Mangani, Kohán, Davies, and Mortensen. The audience can expect an eclectic programme of duo and trio works showcasing the clarinet’s expressive and chameleon-like abilities, shifting between vastly different playing styles (expect invigorating dances, folk elements, and enchanting melodies) while simultaneously exploring the instrument’s incredible range in tone colour, virtuosity, lyricism, and elegance.
