The SU Choir is not only one of the oldest choirs in South Africa, but also an internationally recognised cultural treasure. Under the direction of André van der Merwe, the choir has held the top position on the international Interkultur ranking for amateur choirs and palmed in numerous awards around the globe. This student choir’s unmatched energy and unique spirit can be attributed to the great diversity of its member’s backgrounds, both academically and culturally. Die US Koor is nie net een van Suid-Afrika se oudste kore nie, maar ook een van die land se voorste kulturele uitvoerprodukte. Onder leiding van André van der Merwe beklee die koor vir meer as ’n dekade die topposisie op die internasionale Interkultur-ranglys vir amateurkore, en ryg hulle ook wêreldwyd toekennings in.
