Iphulo Drama Festival

The iPhulo Premium Drama Festival 2025 takes place from 10-15 March at The Athenaeum, bringing together some of the most compelling theatre productions, masterclasses, and a special book promotion. This year’s lineup features powerful works such as Jika, Spirit of Shakespeare in Africa, Top Dog / Underdog, The Journey, Uvuko Lwethongo, and Weave, produced by leading theatre practitioners from South Africa and beyond. Audiences can also engage in free scriptwriting workshops with Anton Krueger, an acting masterclass with Bheki Mkhwane, also a book promotion for A Quest for Justice by Mzukisi Ndara.
