Dr Wendy Taylor, UCT, Arizona State University, ISAM research associate and geoscience
educator, will give an overview of new collaborative outreach initiatives between Puppet Planet
NPC, ISAM and the Field Museum of Natural History (Chicago, USA). Puppet Planet presents
novel arts-centred shows and workshops that use puppetry, music and dance. Performances
often take place in exhibit spaces where we can link our outreach activities directly to specific
displays and increase overall visitor engagement.
They present a free monthly family program, hands-on workshops, and have launched the
Kidz 4 Collections Club at ISAM, where learners can explore science topics in more detail.
Additionally, we collaborate closely with ISAM researchers to offer engaging programs on
commemorative days and during the school holidays.
