In this final concert for 2024, the Jazz Division will showcase an exciting, predominantly South African musical repertoire from luminaries such as Bheki Mseleku, Hotep Idris Galeta, Sibongile Khumalo, and Winston Mankunku.
Pascal Haas will conduct The Stellenbosch University Jazz Band and Stuart Martin will conduct the newly formed Maties Jazz Orchestra. The Maties Jazz Society’s various chamber ensembles will play a selection of Cape and South African Jazz music, as well as some original tunes. The incomparable Leslie Kleinsmith will be our special guest. This program is curated by Ramon Alexander.
