Mwana KuChema (Directly translated- A baby is crying)written and directed by Linda Wa Ka Shabangu.
Mwana KuChema is a story of a child's journey of self-discovery navigating within mysteries of a family hidden secret. It's a quest to reconnect with our genetic history within time/space (past/present/future).
A story about forgiveness and searching for healing in ourselves, in our society, in our communities, and in our home. The play questions the illnesses of living in deteriorating environment, how humanity battles to co-exist with our daily lives in the townships and has a strong observation about the broken family structures, self-destruction and parental love/guidance in black communities.
