Established 22 years ago, the Cape Town Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (CPYO), the flagship of the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra’s vast youth education programme, is the foremost orchestra of its kind in South Africa. Some 50 young people aged between 15 and 27 audition annually, and all receive theory and practical experience weekly during school terms.
